Mastermind group for entrepreneurs: where to get real solutions, not just advice

Let us think this through.
Whenever you or I face a business task we politely call it a task, but often it feels like a real problem the same questions pop up in our head: How do I solve this? Who can I ask for advice? How is this implemented in other companies? What are my competitors doing?
Has this ever happened to you?
This is exactly the point where sleepless nights and endless overthinking often begin.

Why random conversations rarely give real solutions
When entrepreneurs have these questions, ideally we would ask them to a real person, not only to an AI tool. With all respect to ChatGPT, it has never actually run your business.
What we actually do is:
call friends or partners,
ask our team,
talk to someone at an event or at a bar.
Are these methods effective for you? For me, not really.
Most of the time I hear a stream of advice and opinions, rather than a clear story of how someone solved a similar task in real life. At the same time the questions themselves are very good. And it is completely natural to want to see how competitors handle the same thing.
Copying competitors is a strategy, but usually not the best one
Copying what your competitors already do is a possible strategy.
However, my practice and research show that the strongest solutions often come from mixing approaches from different industries. You borrow ideas from other fields, combine them with your context and end up with something unexpectedly powerful. People often say that the most beautiful faces are mixed ones. A kind of human version of cross industry mixing. Business works in a very similar way.
There are many examples in business history.
Toyota built its Just in Time system from the logic of a supermarket. The next process only “takes from the shelf” what is needed, stock gets refilled based on real demand. This is how the kanban system was born.
The McDonald brothers took Ford’s conveyor logic and brought it into the kitchen. Their Speedee Service System set a new standard of speed and cost efficiency for the whole fast food industry.
This is the power of transferring solutions between industries.
You need someone to think with, not someone to lecture you
Most of us want someone engaged to think with us. Like in the series “House MD”, when he walks around talking through his ideas and the team helps him land on the insight. I will be honest. I often use my team and partners as people to think against. I can imagine how that feels for them from time to time. There is, however, a more humane and structured way to do this. A mastermind group.
In a mastermind you think together with other entrepreneurs who:
are ready to share their real experience,
tell you how they actually solved similar tasks,
give feedback from practice, not from theory.
This is exactly the kind of real world experience most of us are missing. Not books, not general talks on stage, but concrete people and concrete solutions.
This is what makes a mastermind group so valuable. It gives you:
genuine exchange of experience,
different lenses from other industries,
an opportunity to assemble your own “mixed” approach.
FAQ about the mastermind group for entrepreneurs
What is a mastermind group for entrepreneurs?
A mastermind group for entrepreneurs is a small group of business owners who meet regularly to discuss real challenges, share experience and help each other find workable solutions. It is a structured peer to peer format, not a lecture.
How is a mastermind different from just asking friends for advice?
Friends usually give opinions and tips. In a mastermind you work with entrepreneurs who bring real case studies from their own business, and the process is facilitated so that you leave with concrete options, not just more noise.
